The Scholarship

dawn 1This scholarship is a memorial to Dawn Angelopoulos, a graduate of the Lynn English High School class of 1984. Dawn graduated from Salem State College with the class of 1989, was a strong supporter of public education, and believed in the need for available financial assistance for students in need.

A $2,000 non-renewable scholarship will be awarded each year in Dawn's name to a member of the Lynn English High School graduating class.

Mike was Dawn’s friend for over forty years and they were married for the last 20 years.  Mike is an ownership partner at Cabot Risk Strategies, LLC and, together with their children Mikayla, Kylie, Alexis and Connor, works to keep Dawn’s memory alive through The Light of Dawn, Inc.

Sharon is Dawn’s sister, also a graduate of Lynn English High School, an insurance broker in Ipswich and the mother of two high school age children.

Lauri is a life-long friend of Dawn, a Lynn resident and a mother of one Lynn English graduate and a current Lynn English student. 

 

 

Application Procedures

The applicant must be at least a 2-year member of the graduating class of Lynn English High School.

The applicant must be accepted to and attend Salem State College for fall enrollment in the year of his/her high school graduation.

The applicant must provide the following:

  • A copy of the letter of acceptance to Salem State College.
  • A copy of their official high school transcript.
  • A copy of the student aid report of the FAFSA.
  • A completed application.

All of the above should be submitted on or before May 1 to the Guidance Department at Lynn EnglishpdfIcon High School. (DATE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE CHECK WITH GUIDANCE.)

Failure to comply with any of the above procedures will result in disqualification from consideration. The Dawn Angelopoulos Memorial Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.

** It is extremely important that you include documentation of your E.F.C. (EXPECTED FAMILY CONTRIBUTION) failure to do so will result in disqualification from consideration.
